5 Social Media Marketing Strategies to Boost Your Business in 2017

Social media is considered to be the number one daily activity among Americans and 76% Facebook users' worldwide visit the site daily. An average time spent on emailing and Google is more than anything else. A research concluded that 93% of marketers use social media platforms to promote their business. Social media is getting bigger and bigger day by day. If you are not using social media for your brand, then you are simply ignoring a huge amount of customers. Here are few social media strategies to boost your online presence.

1.Create a Game Plan & stick to it

Having no execution strategy means your content is a total waste. Set limits to a number of tweets you want to publish per day. This number may vary as per requirement but you must at least publish four tweets in a day for just setting a benchmark. Before setting a fixed number, first study your competitors, study SMO Company, how much they are posting in a day because it is important to be active but not overly active. Compile your content so that it is easy to read and handy whenever needed. Prepare the content for a week in advance but also be ready to make changes accordingly.

2.Treat each social media platform as an individual entity

Each platform must be treated as a different or separate entity. There are contents which you can share on every platform and there are other contents like some joke which are not suitable for LinkedIn. You need to make a strategy to make content suitable for each platform. You can share corporate related stuff on LinkedIn but as Instagram is a more visually driven platform, you must share more pictures on it to engage more audience at your account. Whereas you can mostly share anything on Twitter & Facebook, these are platforms where you can share your views on a particular topic or can ask others to share their views as well. Paying attention to demographic of your followers on each platform help you to prepare content that can be appealing to them.

3.Go above & beyond in customer service

Whenever a visitor doesn't get a response when he posts on your Facebook page or tweets at your handle, trust is lost. Due to this lack of communication, he will turn to your competitor (SMO Media Agency) to get the all the answers to his questions. But if you response on time, he will be highly impressed and will be flattered by your company. Higher the chances that he will become one of your loyal clients. Responding on time and solving problem are two of the key points to win your customer's heart and making loyal to your brand for forever. It's humanizing to take the time to respond to a personal query which also builds your authority. Sometimes people give negative remarks on your accounts, at that point without panicking, look what you can do change that negative remark into a positive one. Increase the level of your services; ask each customer what are the things or areas in which they think you are lacking in. Improve those things so that when the next time customer returns to you, he can feel the change and can appreciate you for not ignoring his feedback.

4.Embrace Mishaps

In this fast-paced world of social media, mistakes are unavoidable. Embrace these hiccups rather than just ignoring them. The small mistake like missing of a comma is not that big thing to make an announcement for, people must have already noticed it and decided to ignore it but if you keep on publishing it, it will only create a mess. But sometimes the problem is bigger than that, like delivery of wrong product, in that case proactively respond in an active and an apologetic manner and tell your customer what is going to be your next step so that your customer can know that you are actively working to make things right. No matter how big mistake you have made don't feel sad, instead embrace them, apologize for them and make things correct.

5.Track & Talk

Tracking is often considered to be time-consuming and tedious. But it only takes few hours monthly to track down the things, to track whether your strategy is creating right results or not. What are the things you can change to increase your output more? Always keep a track of your number of followers, your post reach, post sharing, likes on a particular post, in which time frame audience response more. Keep a list of hashtags suitable for your company and others which may not be suitable for your brand but has a large number of reach. Study what your competitors are doing, follow them and be ahead of them.

Social Network - Facebook Marketing 2017

It's 2017 and Facebook is still the largest social network on the planet. With over 1.2 billion active users, out of which almost 65% log in daily to this gigantic platform, Facebook was not at all famous back when it launched. A decade ago, there were no more than a few million people using Mark Zuckerberg's experiment of a social network. A decade ago, nobody expected Facebook to be a global success.

Is something going to stop it from growing at an even faster rate? With the momentum Facebook has been having over the last 5 years, do you think anything will stop it? The shocking answer is "almost definitely no", because Facebook is here to stay. Any social network or online platform with a user base that large will probably never go down, but simply adapt, instead.

Most digital marketers use Facebook to promote their products to the massive audience, and there's no better place to advertise than Facebook, because everyone's ideal market is using it 24/7. But you may wonder - how can one target Facebook users with marketing?

One of the best things about Facebook advertising is that their official advertising platform allows you focus on exactly who you are looking for by age, location, gender, interests, and so much more! The basics of Facebook marketing are very simple, and I've been following advice from an expert on Facebook marketing online to bring you the basics of how taking advantage of Facebook.

With 13 being the minimum age requirement for Facebook, almost all age groups use it. There is no official publicly available data by Facebook about their most active age groups, but dozens of researchers showed that the age group of 18-29 is the group you'll stumble upon the most. Accordingly, people 65 and older barely show interest in using it frequently.

What are the best forms of advertising?

* Page-based ads

Unlike profiles, Facebook pages are your gateway to advertising. They are very similar to profiles, but their purpose is for businesses, organizations, and public figures. Facebook users Like a page, and from that point, they begin following a Page and all its public updates.

Pages are totally free and very straightforward when it comes to setting them up, but the tricky part is getting a good number of fans. That's where the advertising part steps in.

With page-based ads, you can create Like campaigns or CTA campaigns that are perfect for showcasing an external website.

* Groups

Facebook groups are what forums should have been, and they are similar to Pages, with the addition being that anyone can post updates to a Group. You can create a group that relates to your industry or audience and start from there. Groups are free and without wasting money on ads, you can engage a lot of users in no time.

* Profile Photo - indirect advertising

Your profile photo is the placeholder for your logo. It's that simple. When it comes to the Cover Image, it's a different story, because you're the one who has to decide what goes here. Some use imaginary mascots, others showcase discounts or even their own employees. Fancy artwork with a flat design is always a great option, though.

* The "About" section

It's a short pitch that can make or break your Facebook marketing campaign. This goes right below your business' logo / profile picture, and this is where you get to tell the wide Facebook community what you're about.

All you have to do to succeed is to keep it friendly and informal, because nothing beats a casual tone.

Conclusion

Facebook is more than just a powerful social network. It's flexible, and no matter what your niche is, you can enjoy enough varieties of marketing options. With them, you can tailor your marketing efforts to fit all your company's needs.

Of course it takes time to learn all of Facebook's wide features, but believe me, once you get through them all, it will be so worth it! You want to make sure you embrace the constant growth that Facebook is having, and then work on social media marketing.

Strike while the iron is hot. It's just a matter of time before your competition starts running Facebook ads to promote products and discounts. If is not yet a part of your Facebook marketing campaign, it should definitely be. Do your research, sign up for Sara's Zeqr class, start a few campaigns to see what will happen. Practice makes perfect!

3 Mistakes in Social Media Marketing That May Come Back to Haunt You

Picture this.

You order an item online and it takes way more time to arrive than it should. Plus, a few items are missing in the package. Frustrated, you take to the vendor's Facebook channel to voice your concerns and expect to be compensated.

And despite repeated prodding, there is complete radio silence at the other end.

The experience didn't feel good did it? You think maybe this business doesn't care about you - how you trusted it to give you a good experience and it shattered this trust instead. So you do what any frustrated individual would - you vow never to order anything from here again and hit the "unlike" button.

For social media strategists, there is a lesson to be learned here. A social media marketing strategy can eventually falter with a few unlikes and negative comments.

As a business owner, social media gives you limited chances to make a good impression. How you take advantage of these chances might make your business or break it.

The proof is in these stats:

• 71% of users who have a positive social media experience with a brand are likely to recommend it - Ambassador

• According to a study, hardly 20% of social media posts hardly generate any emotional reaction on social media - Havas Media

• 42% of Twitter users expect to be expect a business to respond to their inquiries within an hour - Ambassador

As a social media marketer, the best way to improve your social media strategy is to first find why it falters in the first place. Here are some mistakes that you might have overlooked:

1 - Being careless with negative feedback

If you have ever dealt with a salesperson, you wouldn't expect him to become defensive when you have a complaint or be careless about your concerns.

So why would your followers on social media?

Keep in mind, whenever anyone says something negative about you on social media, the rest of your followers can see them. And they will be as interested to see how you respond.

For businesses, this is a nail-biting scenario. But it is totally avoidable. Here is how:

• Put someone competent behind the wheel: Experienced professionals like social media experts will take an unbiased approach to the negativity and know that being careless about it serves no purpose.

For example, they know that being unresponsive to comments like "your service sucks! I want my money back" doesn't really help anyone. A well worded reply on the other hand, helps both your reputation and appeases rising tempers.

To illustrate, your reply should go something like, "We are sorry that you had a bad experience. Can you tell us exactly what happened so we can make amends?" This way, you are more likely to ease frustrated customers.

• Become alert to mentions by using online tools: It's easy to forget about something you don't encounter every day. Comments on social media are the same. You can't track every one of them. No one inboxes them to you and there is no guarantee that followers will tag you.

To keep track of all comments, you can use tools like Google Alerts which notify you when anyone uses your keywords on their social media fields.

2 - Using social media management tools to schedule same posts on all platforms

Social media management tools allow marketers to post the same content on several social media platforms at once. Many businesses use it to schedule posts. And it has worked for them too, freeing up the time they need to focus on other tasks.

But oftentimes, people use these tools as a shortcut to schedule same posts on several platforms. It's a lazy tactic and shows that you don't care how your content is received by audiences.

Keep in mind, what works on Facebook or Twitter won't necessarily work on LinkedIn. Every social media platform was created with specific target audiences in mind. A 140 character tweet, for example, won't sit well with LinkedIn audiences who expect more comprehensive posts.

Use tools to schedule optimized posts

To make the most of social sharing tools, improve your social media strategy first. Take the time to learn about the unique capabilities of each platform. Limit yourself to two or three platforms if that is what it takes. For example, posts that are rich in imagery are more successful on Google+.

Hootsuite and HubSpot are two of the many social media management tools that you can use to automate posts and even see which channels are driving the most engagement. In addition to automated content sharing, these platforms also offer free online social marketing training courses that can help you make the most of each platform like optimizing your posts for different social media channels.

3 - Skimping on social share buttons

Business owners usually reserve their best content for their websites. Content like informative blogs, for example, establish them as experts in their niches.

It also give visitors a chance to stay longer on these websites. Perhaps they would like to look around to see what else is on offer?

Unfortunately, you could feature content that everyone would love to share - but if visitors don't have any way to share it, it isn't going to get the exposure you are looking for.

To make this work for you:

• Make your social sharing work on mobile: Statistics show that over 15% of tweet mentions are from the tweet buttons that are embedded on your site. This also proves to show that people share a lot on mobile devices.

• Tools to create social share buttons for WordPress: You can use online tools to create customized social share buttons for different audiences.

When selecting appropriate plugins, a good rule of thumb is to select those that allow you more freedom in the type of social share buttons you can create for different platforms.

For example, to improve engagement with mobile audiences you can tell your developers to download WordPress plugin tools like Simple Share Buttons Adder to create customized share buttons for your web or mobile audience and add them to all of your social media posts. Another plugin tool is Addthis.

• Have a social budget: If anything is worth doing, it's worth doing right. Tools like Simple Share Button Adder are free to download and use. But if you really want to make your share buttons shine, it's best to have a budget for it and use it to purchase their pro or premium packages. These offer more customization options and retail for around $10 to $100 dollars.

• Select shareable content wisely: If you want to take advantage of social media, your content must be something that people would want to share. Image rich posts, for example, are shared a lot more than text-based content.

To illustrate, consider infographics. Studies show that infographics are shared and "liked" on social media 3 times more than any other type of content.

Wrapping Up

Use tools to keep yourself alert to negative comments and rely on professional help. Avoid taking the lazy way out by ditching the auto posting strategy. Pay attention to the type of content you post, how your followers share content on your social platforms of choice and optimize it for mobile to expand your reach.

It's a mistake to regard social as a quick and easy solution to market your brand. It takes time, effort and patience. Learning about the mistakes and pitfalls can help you avoid them.

Social Media Larger than Film for Placement of Your Products

Ask your friends, your significant other, even your teenage kid about products their favorite celebrities use, and 8 times out of 10 you'll get a list of them, and from different celebs. With the day to day life of many celebrities only a swipe away, cascading through news feeds, there's been an eruption in the product placement market. For years you wanted to get your product in TV shows and movies to have a giant impact and brand yourself to the masses in one fell swoop. These days, you can get more exposure from a few well-placed social media posts than from your product being used by a main character on a TV show, or in the background of some movie. The real shocker in all of this though is that the cost to get your product on a celebrities' social media posts, be it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or more, is normally a fraction of the cost than film or TV.

For most businesses, it's a no-brainer comparison. We'd rather have an active audience over a captive one. True, it's great to say your company's product was used by a main character of a blockbuster movie, like in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Steve Rogers wears Levis Jeans, or Bruce Banner uses Beats headphone, but how many of you reading noticed that or noticed and then forgot until I jogged your memory? Yes, the audience for movies and TV shows are captive, they've devoted their time (30 minutes to 2 ½ hours) to an event, but if you are just a small blip during that time, it probably won't have a lasting effect. However, if a celebrity posts a few pictures of themselves with your product, calls it out by name in the description or social media video, that sticks with more people. The people viewing those posts are paying attention and your product, even if it isn't the main focus, is part of that message.

You used to know the drink a celebrity enjoyed, or the clothes they'd wear day to day, because you'd see it in pictures sold to magazines by paparazzi. Now, these celebrities are sharing aspects of their lives with the world through social media, almost making paparazzi obsolete. You don't have to notice that Starbucks cup in the hands of your favorite celeb in a blurry picture, but instead get a crystal clear selfie of them with it at the beach or on the move.

Wanting to understand a bit more about this scenario, I talked to an expert in celebrity endorsement, including social media. "You see it all the time," they informed me, "celebrities on their Facebook talking about a fashion designer, game they played, and more, or they've taken to Instagram to post pics of food from a restaurant, makeup they have, or even a view from the hotel they're staying at and it gets thousands of likes, sometimes even millions. It goes further than just products though. A celebrity that takes to social media to support a charity can have amazing results in raising money or they can voice support for a company's services and people respond. They pay attention to these posts and pictures today with a fervor greater than we've seen in the past."

So what does this mean for businesses, I asked the expert. "What they all look for, opportunities," they told me. "The average business isn't going to be able to afford the 15 seconds or less of product placement in television and movies, but they can afford a few posts by a celebrity which fits their image and their target demographic. In addition to the cost difference, they get a more lasting impression on the audience and even multiple exposure, as those same posts may get revisited by people commenting on them, or shared and reposted on other users and groups pages. With sharing and reposting being a factor, a popular post or image has the ability to go viral and product a snowball effect. All at a cost most businesses can afford."

With all of this information, I couldn't see why a company wouldn't at least examine the possibility of celebrity endorsements. Maybe it's the years of believing it was too expensive? Maybe it's having your heart set on a specific celebrity? Maybe it's lack of know how? No matter the reason, in our current trend of a continued growth in social media which shows no signs of stopping, I recommend companies, currently engaged on social media or not, to ponder what a celebrity endorsement on social media could mean for them.

How Social Media Can Influence Car Sales

There are an estimated 1.7 billion social media users in the world. When it comes to auto sales, social media can hugely impact potential car buyers and dealers. Here are some statistics that prove just how much car sales can largely increase through the power of the internet.

1. 90% of potential car buyers use the Internet to research different vehicles as well as car dealership information.

2. The automotive industry makes up of 6.1% of all online purchases.

GM, Ford, and Toyota make up half of the total spending of online automotive advertising.

3. Rich media (such as video) doubles the conversion rate and triples the click-through rate.

A question that I receive all the time from dealerships is to elaborate more on social media usage to generate more sales, since buying a car is a face-to-face experience. With the statistics that I have provided above, it is a no-brainer that using social media is extremely important.

So how can you implement social media?

1. Start using online video and post to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.

Show off new and used models-- interior, exterior, and the best features that the car has to offer.

2. Start using virtual showrooms as well as dealer showrooms.

More and more dealerships across the world are using virtual showrooms for clients that want to check out the dealership from home.

3. Guest post in blogs in your industry/company.

This is super important. If you have the opportunity to write a guest blog; such as explaining about Honda's if you work at a Honda dealership, chances are, you will receive expert recognition and trust.

4. Stress online customer reviews.

Word of mouth isn't around anymore. Websites such as Foursquare and Yelp make this possible. Use this to your advantage an ask buyers for them to write a review.

5. 24/7 access to dealer and showroom information instead of the 9-5.

This goes along with #2. Prospects who are in the market for a new car look around anytime of the day. Help your prospects out by showing them an updated showroom so they can see what you have to offer.

6. Use mobile access instead of waiting for a quote.

Make getting a quote easy for your prospects. Make sure you have the option for them to get pre-qualified online so they won't have to wait for the process when they go to your dealership.

In Conclusion:

A dealership's social media presence tells consumers that their brand is active and focused on communication with consumers. Selling in any kind of industry is a people business, not a money business.
